People considering a Radiesthesia session often have a practical question: what exactly happens during it? One clear way to answer is to distinguish between two separate stages. First comes the reading — a moment of observing the energy field. Then, based on what the reading shows, comes the harmonisation.
The relationship between these two stages is important: the reading guides the focus of the session, the aspects that will be considered and the resources that may be used based on what it indicates. This article explores that relationship.
If you are not yet familiar with Radiesthesia, you may want to start with our introductory article, which introduces the practice, its instruments and its history. Here, we take the discussion a step further.
What Wholistica means by energetic harmonisation
At Wholistica, energetic harmonisation is the term used for work that seeks to support greater balance and flow in the energy field, based on what has been observed during a reading.
We also sometimes use the word reorganisation. It describes the same process from another perspective, emphasising the adjustment of the aspects perceived during the reading and the way these elements may be worked with energetically.
These concepts form part of the energetic framework Wholistica uses to describe what is observed during a reading and how harmonisation is carried out.
Reading and harmonisation: two stages of the same process
The distinction between these two stages is what gives each session its own direction. They are separate moments, but part of the same process: the reading comes first and guides what happens next within the session itself.
What emerges during the reading
The reading is a moment of perception. Using the instruments of Sensitive Radiesthesia together with the facilitator's own sensitivity, the energy field is observed as it presents itself at that moment: where there appears to be greater flow, where there is less, and which aspects seem to call for attention.
The reading begins with what is present in that particular session. The reasons someone may seek Radiesthesia can vary, and the process is guided by what is perceived within that energetic context.
Within this framework, the reading may indicate blockages or areas of reduced flow in the energy field. These are terms used within this approach to describe perceptions registered during the reading.
How harmonisation is carried out
During harmonisation, the aspects identified through the reading are worked with energetically. The reading guides which aspects will be considered and which resources may be used in each session. In this way, harmonisation develops from the context that has been observed, without following predetermined sequences or protocols.
Why the reading considers different reference frameworks
A natural question is: observed how? Based on what?
The reading may draw on different reference frameworks. Some originate in traditions that developed their own ways of understanding vital energy and the subtle body; others form part of the way Sensitive Radiesthesia itself is organised. They are considered according to what the reading indicates.
Each has its own logic and is considered within the context to which it belongs.
Chakras and subtle bodies
The concept of chakras has roots in Indian traditions and appears in different systems of Yoga and Tantra. Within these frameworks, chakras are understood as centres of the subtle body associated with the circulation and organisation of energy. Prāṇa, understood in these traditions as vital energy, circulates through subtle channels known as nāḍīs. Chakras and nāḍīs are part of these traditional understandings of the subtle body.
Different systems organise the chakras in different ways and may recognise other energetic centres beyond the seven that are most widely known. In the Sensitive Radiesthesia practised at Wholistica, the work focuses on seven principal chakras: root or base, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow and crown.
Sensitive Radiesthesia also considers seven subtle bodies, which may be taken into account according to what emerges during the reading: physical, etheric, emotional or astral, lower mental, higher mental, buddhic and atmic.
Some of the terminology used in this model draws on Sanskrit terms found in Indian traditions. The specific organisation into seven bodies as a complete system, however, corresponds particularly closely to formulations found within the Theosophical tradition.
Chakras and subtle bodies may be considered according to what emerges during the reading and the context of each session.
Qi and meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine
The Chinese framework comes from a different tradition. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi — also written Chi — is understood as the body's vital energy. Within this framework, the meridians form a network through which Qi circulates, and this circulation is associated with balance across the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the person.
At Wholistica, this framework may be considered within a specific modality: Energetic Meridian Harmonisation, a non-invasive modality of Sensitive Radiesthesia carried out energetically and exclusively at a distance, without needles or physical stimulation of the points. The reading may guide which meridians and which points are considered in a particular session, with the intention of supporting their harmonisation and the flow of Qi.
The same conceptual vocabulary — Qi, meridians and points — is also present in acupuncture. Acupuncture, however, works through the physical stimulation of points associated with the meridians, generally using fine needles.
Biological system
The reading may also consider the biological system as one of the reference frameworks used in Sensitive Radiesthesia, encompassing different systems of the body, organs and glands within the energetic framework of the practice.
Depending on what emerges during the reading, these aspects may guide an energetic adjustment of the biological system with the intention of supporting its harmonisation.
Why there is no fixed protocol for energetic harmonisation
This brings us to perhaps one of the most characteristic aspects of this way of working: each session is conducted individually, based on the reading.
What emerges during the reading guides the focus of the session, the aspects that will be considered, the choice of resources and the way the process itself is conducted at that moment. Even when two sessions begin with a similar theme, the aspects and resources indicated may be different. People, animals, spaces and situations each have their own context, and observing that context is what guides the way each session is conducted.
Depending on what the reading indicates, the session may integrate different modalities and resources. These may include Chakra Balancing, Subtle Body Harmonisation, Radionics — with radionic charts, symbols or radionic geometries —, crystals, flower essences, Aromatherapy and Energetic Meridian Harmonisation.
More specific vibrational resources may include the Pyramid, the Atlantean Rod, vibrational support with vitamins and mineral salts, energetic harmonisation of the thymus, and harmonisation of the right and left hemispheres through the E.I.F. Sutil technique.
The session may also integrate Psychic Perception when this resource is indicated, allowing for a broader observation of memories and influences from other experiences of the soul, as well as spiritual bonds related to the context of the session.
The reading may also point to other aspects, such as emotional records, ancestral influences, low-frequency vibrational interferences and dense impregnations perceived in the energy field. The combination of resources considered varies according to what emerges during the reading.

What may be perceived after a session
Each person experiences the process in their own way. Some describe a sense of lightness, greater mental clarity, emotional relief or a greater sense of balance. Others notice more gradual changes, such as new understandings, dreams, insights or changes in the way they perceive patterns that previously repeated.
The way these perceptions develop, and the pace at which they do so, may vary according to the person's current circumstances, the depth and complexity of the theme being explored, their inner readiness for the process and the time needed for integration.
A complementary approach
An approach is described as complementary when it is used alongside conventional care — unlike an alternative approach, which is used in place of conventional care.
Radiesthesia, as practised by Wholistica, remains within this complementary framework: it does not constitute a diagnosis or health assessment. It is used alongside professional care and does not replace medical, psychological or veterinary care, nor should it delay professional assessment.
Each session, its own path
The path from reading to harmonisation is, at heart, an exercise in listening. Observation comes before action, and what is observed guides what follows. Each reading reveals something different, and each process calls for its own way of being conducted.
